In March of 2013, Mark Walker launched the Walker4NC U.S. congressional campaign for North Carolina’s 6th District. Walker has served in various pastor roles, most recently at Lawndale Baptist Church in Greensboro. For six seasons, he wrote and directed the annual Greensboro Christmas Spectacular attended by several thousand people each December. Walker also speaks as a college lecturer on mentorship and administration.
Mark Walker moved to the Triad in 1991 working in finance management for the Flow Automotive organization. He is actively involved in Greensboro’s community and civic affairs. Each summer, Mark leads dozens of volunteers into the heart of the nation’s larger inner cities for mission work and sports camps.
In 2012, the Greensboro City Council appointed Walker to the War Memorial Commission. He served on the Greensboro Coliseum’s Budget & Finance team and has also worked on local and statewide campaigns including the role of campaign manager.
Walker4NC lists of endorsements include sheriffs of Guilford and Alamance Counties, the mayors of Summerfield and Stokesdale, the former Guilford County GOP Chairman, North Carolina’s most recent 6th district chairman as well as a host of city council officials and county commissioners. The campaign currently has offices in Greensboro, Reidsville and Burlington, NC.
Mark’s wife, Kelly, is a flight trauma nurse for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center’s AirCare program. She recently completed her Nurse Practitioner degree at Winston-Salem State University where she also holds her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Mark and Kelly have three children and recently celebrated twenty-one years of marriage.
